Three foreigners and eight Filipinos gear up for the big challenge as the Tuason Racing School (TRS), distinguished as the longest running and only professional racing school in the country, stages the 2011 TRS Cup powered by Ford Fiesta kicking off November 13 at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

The 11 competitors will be driving their own Ford Fiesta as they represent separate teams in this one-make series sponsored by Castrol, Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, Hafele, Ford Alabang, Smart Bro, and Smart Netphone. Magazine, Manila Bulletin, Channel V, Stoplight TV, Kotse.com, Turbozone, and 99.5RT.

The foreign challenge will be provided by Ross Jackes of Australaia, Stefan Wolf of Germany and Eric Choi of Guam.

Jackes, a pilot by profession, will try circuit racing driving under the colors of Pacific Jet Corp Inc. An avid golf player, he got bitten by the racing bug when his son Flynn joined the Castrol Champions of the future karting program (COF).

Wolf, who started his racing career back in 2008, will be driving for Team Hafele while Choi, a network consultant who's been joining autocross races, will banner the title quest for Smart Netphone.

Two ace karters – Yvana Carangan of Standard Insurance and the young Basti Escalante of Smart Bro Team – will spearhead the Philippines' bid for the crown.

Joining them are Daisy Jackes, Ding Dizon, Mayor Charlie Cojuangco, Councilor Benjo Bernabe, Bobby Horrigan and Paolo Bringas.

Filipina Daisy Jackes will be racing alongside husband Ross for the Pacific Jet Corp Inc. while Dizon, a mild-mannered company executive who had been competing under Tuason Racing, will topbill the title hunt for the Coke Zero Team.

Cojuangco, a long-time race car driver from Negros Occidental, will make his comeback as the lead driver for Gatas Moo Team while Bernabe, racing for the MCGP Team, joined the series to serve as an inspiration himself for the Filipino youth to get into sports and keep them out from drugs.

Horrigan, an executive of Discovery Suites, is a mainstay of Tuason Racing running for Team Castrol while Bringas, on the other hand, is the 2010 Top Driver Challenge champion who will be representing Team Ford Alabang-C! Magazine.
